I was pleasantly surprised by how well my first Stitch Fix matched my style. For those of you who haven't heard of Stitch Fix or haven't tried it yet, imagine this: You pull into your driveway after a busy day of work and on your front porch you see a package with that turquoise Stitch Fix logo. Upon opening the box, you receive five clothing items that were personally selected for you by your very own stylist based on the Style Profile you filled out. Plus you can try the clothes on in the comfort of your own home and you don't have to find time to get to the mall to go shopping. As a new mom who works full time, finding time to go clothes shopping is almost impossible...Stitch Fix is a lifesaver for me, especially as I rebuild my wardrobe postpartum.
Here it goes, my first stitch fix.
1) Pomelo June Polka Dot Skirt – $58
I wasn't sure how I would feel about this skirt and the polka dots. It turned out that it was super cute but just a little too tight for comfort.
Verdict: Returned it
2) Pixley Colibri Heart Print Tab-Sleeve Blouse in Navy, $48
I absolutely loved this blouse immediately when I pulled out of the box. I usually have a hard time with button down shirts like these but this one fits really well. Plus, I can totally wear this to work or on the weekend.
Verdict: Kept it
3) Alan Cowl Neck Asymmetrical Cardigan $68
I was really excited to get this sweater in my box as it was actually something I pinned on my style board on Pinterest. I was disappointed however that I received it in black, as it was way too similar to something I already have. Back to Stitch Fix it went.
Verdict: Returned it
4) Teresa Color-Block Sleeveless Blouse $58
This was another item that I was excited to receive as it was on my Pitnerest Style Board but on Pinterest I saw it in other color combinations and I received it in black and white. I have so much black and white that I couldn't justify keeping this, especially at this price point. Plus it didn't fit well as it puckered at the armpits.
Verdict: Returned it
5) Henry & Belle Super Skinny Jeans $148
These may be the best fitting jeans I have ever owned. They are a great dark wash so they can easily be dressed up for work or a night out. They have just enough stretch in them that they prevent the undesirable muffin top and yet they don't sag, even when I wear them more than once in between washes which I often do.
Verdict: Kept
